In January of this year, we lost a very dear friend and a colleague when Michael Charlesworth finally lost his fight with cancer.
Those of us fortunate enough to have known Michael well cannot help but be struck by the void that his passing has created. Michael was an intelligent, warm, kind and caring man who sought out the best in everyone. He challenged lazy thinking and pushed people to find their own spark for life. Above all, he encouraged people to be proud of whomever and whatever they were.
The most commonly stated sentiment from Michael’s past clients has been that the world has lost a genuinely lovely man and is now a poorer place for that loss. Many of you reading this will have experienced, first hand, his brilliant work on the Speaking with Authenticity workshop. Michael could hold his audience in a way that was both challenging and yet unshakeably supportive at the same time and many hundreds of individuals have benefited not only from what Michael taught but just as much from who Michael was. He was indeed the most unassuming and authentic person I have ever had the privilege to meet.
We will miss Michael dearly and hope that we can do justice to the legacy he has given us through his wonderful work and teaching.
