With the use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (Step II)TM, and Belbin's Team Roles profile, this workshop examines the style and leadership preferences of each individual leader and how this preference will affect approaches to leading teams. We will examine the role of the leader and the skills and processes required to lead a team including:
- How teams form and build
- Team processes and dynamics
- Team goals and purpose
- Mutual expectations
- Personal and mutual accountability
- Communication and decision-making
- Team meetings
- Team conflict
- Customer / client focus
Key Objectives
To:
- Examine the role of the team leader in all the aspects mentioned above
- Identify personal leadership preferences and challenges of approach to leading teams
- Work with the fundamental building blocks of task, process and team dynamics
- Appreciate the differences between leading, managing and coaching and why the leader needs to be able to do all three
- Identify dysfunctional aspects of teams and how to resolve them
- Personal action planning for creating a high-performance team environment
