Coaching skills for first-line managers - 2 days
First- line managers are the engine rooms of most organisations. They play a vital role in ensuring that day-to-day performance of the organisation is as high as it can be. Therefore, equipping first-line managers with skills to be able to develop their staff in day-to-day situations makes good business and people sense. This is what this workshop offers.
The advantage of coaching as a development tool is its applicability to most situations and the immediacy of results and feedback. This workshop focuses on practical hands on tools and techniques for use in everyday situations.
Key Objectives
To:
- develop an appreciation of the value of everyday coaching to both the task and the person involved
- understand how people learn using Kolb's learning cycle and Honey's Learning Styles questionnaire
- learn how to delegate using a coaching methodology
- equip managers with a range of skills and techniques enabling them to coach in a busy environment
- learn how to create an effective performance development plan for staff to enhance performance in their current roles
