How did you first get into coaching?
As Learning and Development Manager for Barclays Insurance, I was responsible for the integration of the GROW model and method into the personal development review process. This then developed into a desire to develop myself to become a coach for my team, peers and the general business I was serving.
How would you describe your coaching approach?
Experience and feedback tells me that I am most effective when able to create a sense of quality time and space for coachees to be high-level independent thinkers. Allowing them to take responsibility for themselves and where they want to go. Balanced with appropriate challenge and feedback.
What are your areas of specialism?
Facilitating client's insight into current realities and understanding of often complex realities followed by the removal of limiting assumptions and blocks that impede them. Creating compelling and inspirational vision for where individuals want to go. Grasping what it means and how to take 100% responsibility for their lives.
What do you enjoy about coaching?
A firm belief that the person with the problem is typically best placed to create their own solutions. This foundation leads to building dynamic relationship where individuals gain confidence to face their realities and increase their ability to make desired changes. Followed by the joy of this being realised.
What kinds of people in what roles have you coached before?
The majority of my experience is with people in business at every levels and specialities. Typically this involves people looking for personal insight, performance and quality of life improvements. I also have particular skill with coaching people in the grip of an unusually high level of stress or personal crisis.
