How did you first get into coaching?

As a leadership and management trainer I also helped people to understand
their 360 feedback and establishing actions plans to adjust behaviour and/or
results. This was my introduction to active coaching. Later, as a post-course
complement, I coached sales managers in finding solutions for their staff
management issues.

How would you describe your coaching approach?

I use the Solution Focused approach which relies heavily on accessing the
client's own resources and helping them to focus on the solution they seek,
rather than the problem. This creates positive energy, a forward looking
perspective and the confidence to achieve the goals they set for themselves.

What are your areas of specialism?

My background is primarily in the banking industry, with 28 years experience in a
variety of positions: human resources, foreign exchange trading, people
management, client interface/account management and training. I am
qualified to administer both MBTI steps I and II as well as facilitate 360 degree
feedback.

What do you enjoy about coaching?

Coaching brings me a lot of satisfaction. I enjoy talking and listening to people,
asking questions and helping them discover the resources they have within. I find
it exhilarating when clients have an "aha moment" and that I played a small part
in making that happen.

What kinds of people in what roles have you coached before?

The majority of people I have coached are people managers, ranging from area or regional sales managers to operations directors, based across Western
Europe. I have done some personal coaching for selected individuals.

"I had the pleasure of being coached by Collette as part of a sales training program. At first I was a bit skeptical about the concept of monthly coaching sessions over the phone, but this changed completely during the first session.
Collette very quickly built a trust relationship with me and helped me to better understand my role in the team which I was leading, particularly in relation to some rather difficult people. With her help I was able to develop concrete steps forward to manage the situations. I have experienced Collette both as a highly professional person and somebody very pleasant to work with. I can highly recommend her if someone requires coaching to cope with difficult situations, in particular when leading people."
