How did you first get into coaching?
I was introduced to coaching in the late 1990's when I successfully completed Myles Downeys School of Coaching. As a line manager and facilitator of leadership development programmes, I recognised that the ability to support others take responsibility for their own performance and development is essential for personal and business success.
How would you describe your coaching approach?
I encourage individuals to develop congruence and authenticity in a way that means personal growth is an energising and tremendously satisfying experience. From this, the freedom to explore options, challenge assumptions and test out theory is the fertile ground on which success, confidence and results grow.
What are your areas of specialism?
I specialise in developing influencing capability, assertiveness, negotiation skills and managing change. I work with frameworks including Firo Element B, StrengthsFinder and key principles of TA. All these methodologies focus on the talents and preferences each individual possess which, when understood and developed, can result in powerful results both personally and professionally.
What do you enjoy about coaching?
I enjoy providing and holding the space for personal transformation to occur. Allowing an individual's uniqueness to develop in a way that means they can be congruent, authentic and successful is an energising and personally fulfilling experience.
What kinds of people in what roles have you coached before?
I have coached managers from middle to executive levels in sectors from the media (Advertising Directors), retail, police (Superintendants, Chief Superintendants), NHS (Executive level), local authority and insurance. I have coached in the contexts of 360 feedback, executive leadership programmes, talent pool development and culture change.
'Working with Beverley has meant that I now feel much more content with myself. I have been able to deal with a number of very challenging issues to the satisfaction of all concerned. Beverley handled all of this with great sensitivity & understanding. The tools & techniques we used are repeatable, this means that the learning will be of long term benefit to me. We worked on a regular basis always reviewing progress, this really helped as it kept the pressure on me to deliver on the commitments I made. Knowing that total confidentiality is a cornerstone to how Beverley operates meant that I was able to talk openly.'
